In the past weeks there have been a number of interesting developments locally as far as the traditional Catholic movement is concerned:
a) at least 6 Holy Masses in the Extraordinary Form of the Latin Rite were held in 4 different churches by 4 different Maltese priests.
b) Alas, we are also informed that - at least - another Mass scheduled was cancelled following pressures by some of the local Church authorities.
This can only be a small setback in a future that looks promising. More on this in a future post.
NB None of the mentioned Holy Masses were organised by Pro Tridentina (Malta). We mainly informed people who have expressed interest in the Tridentine Mass. What is encouraging is that although Pro Tridentina (Malta) has been quite discreet till now, concrete results have already been achieved.

Two years down the line:
ReplyDeletea) Around 10 priests are known to have celebrated or are celebrating Tridentine Mass. However these are mainly one offs, at least as far as is known to me.
b) Masses held regularly in one parish were stopped after the main organiser left Malta. Ideally, people should get in touch with him and the parish priest in order to start celebrating Tridentine Mass again.
